Romando Nash, J.D.
Associate Vice President for Student Life Services
Romando Nash’s experience in higher education administration spans 19 years and six institutions. He currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Life Services at University of Nevada, Reno; prior to this work he served in positions at San Jose State University, the University of Southern California, Loyola University Chicago, Seattle University, and Santa Clara University.
He received his juris doctorate degree and master’s in counseling degree from Santa Clara University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Notre Dame de Namur University (formally College of Notre Dame).
He is an active member of ACPA/College Student Educators International, the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the Association of College and University Housing Officials International (ACUHO-I), serving in leadership capacities in each organization. Of particular note is his service on the NASPA NUFP Advisory Board, NASPA AVP Steering Committee, ACUHO-I Levels of Engagement Taskforce, and as a member of the inaugural cohort of the NASPA SERVE Academy. He has presented numerous keynotes and workshops.
His specialty areas include: strategic planning, organizational change, training and development, systems management, multicultural competence, event planning, programming, housing, residence life, first generation students, student retention, community and team building, residential learning communities, residential colleges, facilities management, planning, and design, staff development, and student conduct.
