Friday, November 18, 10AM-11AM (EST)
Join other student affairs colleagues that want to process thoughts and reactions to the election results. This event is free, open to all in the field, and will not be recorded.
The work of the student affairs professional is ongoing. As the results of the election were shared, many of us had to immediately find words and provide support for students and colleagues without fully processing ourselves.
We here at NASPA want to provide an opportunity for processing through #SATakeSpace Dialogue Groups. These groups are spaces to intentionally process your feelings, experiences, and reactions to the results of the election and what it means for you moving forward. These virtual calls, powered through Zoom, will be capped at 75 individuals. We encourage you to have a webcam available for this experience, and please note that Zoom has apps for both Apple and Android to participate through wifi.
We also encourage you to use the hashtag #SATakeSpace to post articles and resources with how you are processing this with your students and other staff. We will be aggregating these resources on our NASPA Social Justice Signature Initiatives page. NASPA will be hosting more of these virtual spaces in the upcoming months, and if you are interested in helping with this initiative, please contact Nathan Victoria at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton shared yesterday, “our responsibility as citizens is to keep doing our part to build that better, stronger, fairer America we seek.” This is our time to come together to make sure we hold ourselves up to this responsibility.
This event is most likely to influence these groups.
Let others know you are coming!
