Welcome to the NASPA Region III Summer Symposium homepage! The Summer Symposium is NASPA Region III's annual regional conference and offers a rich opportunity for professional development for all members of NASPA Region III.

NASPA Region III Summer Symposium provides an atmosphere for growth, learning, and development of higher education professionals.  Through this experience, you will gain personal and professional development, including:

"Pathways to the Profession" Pre-Conference

Thursday, June 15th • 01.00 PM – 04.00 PM

NASPA Region III is excited to offer a FREE pre-conference session entitled “Pathways to the Profession” for first-time attendees. This pre-conference session will be presented by current and past members of the regional board.

Participants who attend will learn about NASPA and how to get connected to NASPA on a state, regional, and national level.  The session will include information on volunteer opportunities, services, and resources to connect student affairs professionals, regardless of position and experience.  The session will be limited to the first fifty attendees and priority will be given to NASPA Region III Summer Symposium first-time attendees. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort

All symposium activities will take place at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort. The Walt Disney World Dolphin has arranged special room rates for symposium attendees starting at $219/night. This includes unlimited domestic long distance and local calls, complimentary bottled water replenished daily, high speed internet access, and unlimited admission to fitness centers featuring the WestinWORKOUT®. Self-Parking is available for registered guests (those who have a room reservation and spend one or more nights at the hotel) for $20.00 + tax per day. Valet parking for registered guests is $30.00 + tax per day. For non-registered guests (those visiting the hotel to use the facilities and services, but is not staying overnight), self-parking is $20.00 for each exit and valet is $30.00 for each exit. Reservations must be made by Monday, May 15, 2017 Eastern time. Information on how to book a room will be provided to you in your registration confirmation email.

    The closest airport to the symposium location is the Orlando International Airport (MCO). The Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort is approximately 22 miles from the airport.

  • Transportation

    For more information about transportation, please visit the Parking & Transportation page of the MCO website. A $4.00 discount is available to attendees for round trip shuttle rates through Mears Transportation. Regular Round Trip rates are $37/adult and $28/child (4-11 yrs). Discount promo codes and information will be provided to symposium guests in the registration confirmation email.

  • Weather

    Temperatures in Lake Buena Vista in June are in the mid-90s F during the day and mid-70s F in the evening. As the symposium gets closer, please visit the Weather Channel for more information.
