During the three day conference, some of the best training and education will be offered to the students and professionals from college and university campuses across Region IV-W. Some of the brightest experts in college health and campus safety will present effective strategies, model programs, and best practices for you to take back to your campus and your community.

Call for Programs

After reviewing feedback from the 2018 conference, attendees indicated that they would like to see more sessions on the following topics: sexual health, sexual assault prevention, evidence-based strategies for prevention, marijuana, and health and wellness for subpopulations (e.g. students of color, LGBTQ+ students, etc.).

Meeting of the Minds: Networking for Success in Prevention is a regional conference dedicated to assisting students and professionals network and learn more about effective prevention strategies and student health issues. Students and professionals working in peer education, prevention, student affairs, or law enforcement from colleges and universities in the five-state area are encouraged to present about their work at this exciting conference!

Please consider sharing a best practice, educational program, or current research in a conference presentation.

Please submit your proposal by Monday, February 8, 2019 via the on-line system. We will notify the presenters of their acceptance beginning February 22.

Our 2018 Meeting of the Minds conference featured several poster sessions displaying research from campuses across the state. Topics included help-seeking behaviors among minority students, effectiveness of Green Dot programs on college health behavior, and a focus group study on sexual health and sexual assault prevention. We would like to invite you to submit a poster on research, or on a program or event from your campus. To submit a proposal for a poster session we ask that you have a title and abstract and that your display fit on an 8'x4' tack board.

Refunds are not available for registration cancellations after Friday, March 22, 2019. Substitutions are allowed, but should be e-mailed to Joan Masters at MastersJ@missouri.edu. 

Please note: refunds are not available for cancellations after March 22. Substitutions are allowed, however payment is expected even in the event that the registrant does not attend the conference. Conference planners and sponsors cannot be held responsible for changes of conference plans due to weather, transportation, acts of terrorism, acts of God, or other possible incidents that may result in non-attendance. In the event of unforeseen situations every effort will be made to refund any costs that can be recovered by the conference planners. There is no guarantee of any refund in this situation.

We are able to accept credit cards for Meeting of the Minds registration fees. However, a 7% fee will be charged on the total of the transaction. Please indicate your willingness to pay by credit card on the Meeting of the Minds registration form and someone from the University of Missouri Box Office will be in contact with you during the hours of 9am-2:30pm Monday-Friday to process the credit card transaction.
