Meeting of the Minds is a regional prevention and health education conference for college and university peer educators, their advisors, administrators, and campus and community law enforcement.

Some of the brightest experts in college health and campus safety will present effective strategies, model programs, and best practices for you to take back to your campus and your community.

Call for Programs

Meeting of the Minds: Networking for Success in Prevention is a regional conference dedicated to assisting students and professionals network and learn more about effective prevention strategies and student health issues. Students and professionals working in peer education, prevention, student affairs, or law enforcement from colleges and universities in the five-state area are encouraged to present about their work at this exciting conference!

Please consider presenting at the conference and sharing the great work that you are doing. This year, we would love to see submissions in these suggested areas:

  1. Effective campus programs
  2. Evidence-based prevention
  3. Working with Greek Students
  4. Working with athletes and partnering with athletic department
  5. Promising or effective programs in suicide and mental health
  6. Promoting smoke-free campuses and tobacco harm reduction
  7. Addressing issues such as gambling, high risk or binge drinking, or drugs of abuse
  8. Effective peer education group strategies
  9. Addressing problem gambling on campus
  10. Effective partnerships and coalitions
  11. Designing programs to meet the needs of students
  12. Judicial affairs and law enforcement strategies
  13. Student leadership and motivation

The registration deadline for the Meeting of the Minds is Friday, March 17, 2017. Rates will double for those wishing to register after the 27th. If you have questions or inquiries about registration, please contact Joan Masters at MastersJ@missouri.edu or 573-884-7551.

Refunds are not available for registration cancellations after Friday, March 24, 2017. Substitutions are allowed, but should be e-mailed to Joan Masters at MastersJ@missouri.edu.

Checks can be made out to University of Missouri. University of Missouri system campuses may pay using mocode and ps account. Please contact Joan Masters at mastersj@missouri.edu for more information. Sorry, we cannot accept credit cards.

Please note: refunds are not available for cancellations after March 24. Substitutions are allowed, however payment is expected even in the event that the registrant does not attend the conference. Conference planners and sponsors cannot be held responsible for changes of conference plans due to weather, transportation, acts of terrorism, acts of God, or other possible incidents that may result in non-attendance. In the event of unforeseen situations every effort will be made to refund any costs that can be recovered by the conference planners. There is no guarantee of any refund in this situation.
