Dr. Emmanuel Lalande
Dean of Student Success
Emmanuel Lalande, a native of Brooklyn, New York, is the Dean of Student Success at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, Missouri with 10 plus years of higher education experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Delaware State University in Dover, Del., as well as a master’s degree in educational leadership also from Delaware State University. Currently, Lalande is pursuing a doctorate of education degree with a concentration in organizational leadership at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Prior to joining HSSU as the Dean of Student Success, Lalande served as Assistant Dean/Director of student involvement at Bethune-Cookman University where he provided vision, leadership and overall administration to the Department of Student Involvement. In this role he had oversight for the Office of Student Leadership & Activities, Office of Intramurals and Recreation Program, Office of Greek Life and the Office of Multicultural and International Services.
Additionally, he has also served as the Director of Student Activities at Washington College in Chestertown, Md., and held the role of director of student leadership & activities and assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs at Delaware State University in Dover, Del. As assistant to the Vice President, he supported student life, strategic planning and worked collaboratively with an array of senior administrators, directors, students and educators to create programs and policies for student success.
