We are excited to have the following professionals join us this year! In addition to our Opening and Closing Speakers, we will host a Panel Discussion on Monday night. The panel is entitled: At the Crux of Higher Education: Varying Perspectives on 5 Monumental Campus Issues. Topics include: campus safety, campus carry, Title IX, mental health and wellness, and diversity and inclusion of SA Pros. This panel will host professionals in our field at a variety of educational and experiential levels who will share their expertise with us on the aforementioned topics.

"Pathways to the Profession" Pre-Conference

NASPA Region III is excited to offer a FREE pre-conference session entitled “Pathways to the Profession” for first-time attendees. This pre-conference session will be presented by current and past members of the regional board.

Participants who attend will learn about NASPA and how to get connected to NASPA on a state, regional, and national level.  The session will include information on volunteer opportunities, services, and resources to connect student affairs professionals, regardless of position and experience.  The session will be limited to the first fifty attendees and priority will be given to NASPA Region III Summer Symposium first-time attendees. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!

Register early for Summer Symposium 2018 in order to be eligible for the “Pathways to the Profession” Pre-Conference session.

All symposium activities will take place at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter New Orleans. The Hyatt Centric has arranged special room rates for symposium attendees starting at $179/night. This includes complimentary high-speed internet access in guest and meeting rooms, use of the 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center, and on-site dining at the Red Fish Grill and Powdered Sugar.  Valet parking for registered guests is $15.00 + tax per day.  Self-Parking is available in a garage located behind the hotel with an $8.00-day rate from 10:00am-7:00pm.  After 7:00 p.m., there is an additional $6.00 per hour.  Rates for a 24-hour period are from $25.00-$30.00 and are higher on the weekend.  Room reservations must be made by 5:00 p.m. CST, Monday, May 21, 2018.  Attendees may also call 888-421-1442 or use the following link to book room reservations: https://aws.passkey.com/go/NASPA2018.
