The CCI is a pre-conference workshop that allows staff and faculty to learn from and engage with one another on a variety of critical issues affecting student affairs professionals in the community college setting. For our 2017 Institute in San Antonio, we are thrilled to share that we will be offering a number of concurrent sessions presented for and by our members. The planning committee encourages you to join us as we explore our themes of cross-campus collaboration, student support, and community colleges and the future

Call for Programs

The call for programs is now closed. The planning committee thanks you for your submissions!

The institute content advisory committee seeks proposals that effectively advance the field of student affairs in work in the community college arena. Additionally, the symposium content advisory committee will select programs based upon the programs' relationships to the institute learning outcomes and themes.

Participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the issues, trends, and evidence-based practices in student affairs at community colleges including student learning and development; workforce development and community engagement; globalism; social justice; organizational and human resources; technology; and compliance and policy development;
  • Identify unique and innovative ways to advance the field and work of community college student affairs professionals;
  • Construct decision-making and planning processes based on data and evidence-based research;
  • Become familiar with the Professional Competencies for Student Affairs Educators and how these competencies apply to their daily work on community college campuses; and
  • Develop a network of colleagues who will support and engage throughout their careers in student affairs.
