Are you in your first years in the Student Affairs field or in the midst of completing your master’s degree? Are you looking for a way to jumpstart your NASPA Region II Conference experience in New York? The New Professional and Graduate Student Pre-Conference provides a unique space for personal reflection and professional growth. The 2016 Pre-Conference offers separate program tracks based on participants’ experience levels in the field of student affairs. The Pre-Conference is a rich network-building opportunity in Region II, with opportunities to learn about the challenges, successes, and promising practices experienced by new professionals and graduate students.

Abriendo Puertas: Pathways for the Advancement of Latino/a Professionals

The pre-conference provides an opportunity for participants to assess their professional goals and begin working on a professional development plan to reach their goals. The institute provides opportunities for participants to be inspired by senior and mid-level Latino/a student affairs professionals and one another about their journey in higher education. Finally, The institute is designed to provide professional development, networking, and fellowship opportunities among Latino/a professionals in NASPA Region II.

The NASPA Region II Conference is excited to add an Undergraduate Student Track to this year’s conference. We want to welcome all undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in Student Affairs. This is a chance for you to learn more about higher education and will give undergraduates access to leaders in our region. The Undergraduate Student Track will run concurrently with the programs. Students should register as a student and will be able to opt into sessions as the conference.
