The NASPA Region III Conference Committee invites you to join us in Montgomery, Alabama in January 2016 to reflect on our collective and individual goals, passions, and purposes of NASPA and student affairs.

Mark your calendars and register now for our highly anticipated 2016 AL-NASPA Drive-In Conference, Friday, January 22, 2016. Student Affairs professionals from across the state will come together to discuss our Common Purpose: Leadership, Collaboration and Innovation. This exciting conference will be held on the Auburn University at Montgomery campus. The committee has prepared an impactful schedule of programs and dynamic speakers. See you in Montgomery!

The 2016 conference includes our fifth New Educators Institute, a half-day pre-conference institute, Thursday, January 21, 2016, designed for Student graduate-students entering all areas of Student Affairs/Student Support/Student Services—this includes Student Services units within Academic Affairs departments—and those who have been in those who have  been in Student Services for three years or less.  For more information, visit the “Pre-Conference” section of this page.

Call for Programs

Have you presented recently at a local, state, regional or national conference? Bring that program back home to your colleagues in Alabama. Submit your program proposals NOW through December 15, 2015. Selected presenters will be notified by Wednesday, December 21, 2015. 

Proposals will be evaluated based on content; relevance to the conference theme and the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners; evidence of clearly stated outcomes and objectives; contribution to the knowledge and practice of student affairs; and adherence to program submission guidelines.

Pre-Conference Programs & Events

The New Educators Institute is designed for graduate students who plan to enter any branch of Student Support Services within higher education. 

The half-day institute provides the following insights:
*an overview and trajectory of the evolving profession of Student Affairs/Student Services
*profiles of the future students the profession must support
*specific ways to become an effective student affairs scholar
*an understanding of a Student Affairs “educator/scholar” vs. a Student Affairs “professional”
*opportunities to find professional mentors
*in-depth discussion of the terminal degree in the profession
*clear instructions on how to implement assessment in all programming activities
*opportunities to network with educators throughout Alabama.

Registration Policy:

Online registration will close on January 19, 2016. On-site registration WILL be available.

Payment Policy:

Please note PURCHASE ORDERS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AS A FORM OF PAYMENT

If you are paying by check, please send it to the address below. Include your name and order number on the check.

If you are paying by credit card, simply follow the steps provided in the registration system. Please note the billing address on the credit card must match the address listed on your profile at the time of check out.

Changes in payment method or credit card after initial payment is processed are NOT permitted, no exceptions. Please be sure that you are using the appropriate credit card for this transaction.

Cancelation Policy:

 The cancelation deadline is January 12, 2016. All requests for cancelations must be in writing and sent to Nichole Thompson at cthomp23@aum.edu. A $50 fee will be deducted from professional refunds and $25 fee will be deducted from student refund.

Refund Policy:

No refunds will be provided after January 18, 2016.
