The NASPA Women in Student Affairs (WISA) Region IV-East Drive-In Conference was developed with the intent of providing women with a platform to give voice to our needs as student affairs professionals. The 2019 WISA Region IV-East Drive-In Conference will be held at the IUPUI Campus Center in Indianapolis, IN on Friday, May 31, 2019.

This year's theme, "Saying No To The Status Quo: Women Leaning Into The Next 100 Years" exemplifies the purpose of WISA. The 2019 WISA Drive-In Conference will inspire women to come together to use one another's stories to reflect, inspire, support, uplift, and strengthen. We hope you join us for this semiannual event!

If you have any questions about the 2019 Region IV-East WISA Drive-In Conference, please contact our conference co-chairs: Eboni Turnbow at eturnbow@umich.edu or Julia Heck at jheck3@emich.edu

Service Project:

Attending the drive-in and have any gently used professional women's clothing? The NASPA IV-E WISA KC is hosting a service project in conjunction with the drive-in. We're donating to Paw's Closet at IUPUI this year. Paw's Closet at IUPUI reduces students worries by providing professional clothing assistance so students can be prepared for professional interviews and jobs. We are highly encouraging drive-in attendees to donate any gently used professional women's attire at the drive-in!

“Paw's closet could use professional attire for normal sizes that are spring/summer wear, and any season professional attire for petite and plus sizes. We only accept brand new shoes and earrings.”

Marlene Kowalski-Braun Award

The Marlene Kowalski-Braun Award for Service to Women in Student Affairs is given to one practitioner at every biennial WISA conference. This award is presented to recognize an outstanding woman in the NASPA IV-East Region who has served the Student Affairs profession through contributions in leadership roles within WISA and/or active membership within NASPA; has made significant contributions for the advancement of female practitioners; and shown dedication to the profession. It is named after the woman who helped establish the sustainability and continued growth of the WISA conference in 2003 as the NASPA WISA Knowledge Community Chair for Region IV-East.

This award is in recognition of Marlene Kowalski-Braun’s commitment to providing a forum for women’s voices at all levels. The recipient of this award embodies the ideals of collaboration, mentorship, promoting advancement of women in leadership roles, as well as active campus and/or community involvement.

Award nominations close Friday April 12, 2019 at 11:59pm! Nominations can be submitted at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdQgqWUq9_6_6BtTukt-Map4hTt8wzoRbP--2WEGkU1m0KZKQ/viewform
