NASPA Student Leadership Programs Knowledge Community Outstanding Leadership Spotlight Program of the Year Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize programs that are transforming higher education through best practices that should be recognized by the SLPKC. Programs can be centered around student leadership topics such as Research and Assessment, Influences on Student Learning, Theory to Practice, and more. Winners of all SLPKC Annual awards will be announced in the SLPKC newsletter and at the NASPA Annual Conference.

Current Recipients

  • LEAD Scholars Academy - University of Central Florida

    The LEAD Scholars Academy was established at the University of Central Florida in 1995. The LEAD Scholars Academy specifically assists in reaching the university’s goals of offering the best undergraduate education available in Florida, becoming a more inclusive and diverse institution, and becoming America’s leading Partnership University. LEAD Scholars offers many exciting opportunities in academics, living learning communities, leadership opportunities, student organizations, research, and campus life to our students. LEAD Scholars Academy also targets transfer and upperclassmen students for our U-LEAD (Upperclassmen LEAD Scholars) programs. Transfer students may participate in a variety of semester long leadership experiences including civic engagement, global leadership, women’s leadership, and multicultural leadership among other initiatives. Other programs that LEAD Scholars Academy offers include a virtual leadership academy and Clinton Global Initiative University.
