Civic Engagement Collaborative Program
The Civic Learning & Democratic Engagement (CLDE) Knowledge Community is a space for professional development, idea generation, scholarship, and discussion related to the field of civic education and public service. The CLDE KC supports student affairs professionals as they promote engaged citizenship and student development, encourage democratic participation in their communities, respect and appreciate diversity, and advocate applied learning and social responsibility.
The Civic Engagement Collaborative Program award recognizes an institution that has demonstrated collaboration in the area of civic learning and democratic engagement. The successful organization for this award exhibits excellence in the areas of leadership and service and seek to apply these abilities in innovative was to improve the lives of others.
This award is available to institutions that have implemented a program or cultivated a strong partnership relating to civic education. Nominees for this award will have illustrated commitment to civic learning and democratic engagement during the academic year in which the award is presented. Collaboration with the American Democracy Project, Campus Compact, The Democracy Commitment, NASPA LEAD Initiative, and TurboVote as well as partnerships formed across campus are indicators of an effective program. The following materials are required to nominate a Collaborative Program: one-page nomination letter, a minimum of two supporting letters and supporting evidence of the program in the form of advertising materials, press coverage, testimonials and any other relevant documentation of the collaboration.
