What are the official dates of the Annual Conference?

The Annual Conference will take place Saturday, March 11, 2017 to Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

How many people will be at the conference?

The NASPA Annual Conference has around 5,000 - 5,500 attendees each year.

How can I become an exhibitor?

We have many different exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities at the NASPA Annual Conference! Exhibitor information can be found on the Exhibit & Sponsor page of the Annual Conference website.

Are there volunteer opportunities available?

YES! There are many ways to volunteer for the NASPA Annual Conference. The Engage & Volunteer page of the Annual Conference website will be updated as volunteer opportunities become available in the fall.

What are the different session formats?

We have many different session formats during the NASPA Annual Conference. A description of each session type can be found on the Program & Events page of the Annual Conference website.

Where can I find information on the conference hotels?

All hotel information can be found on the NASPA Annual Conference website on the Plan Your Trip page. 

Will there be transportation to the conference center from the conference hotels?

No, transportation is not provided due to the fact that all conference hotels are within walking distance to the conference site.

What is the headquarter hotel?

The headquarter hotels are the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk, and the Grand Hyatt San Antonio

Registration

Can I pay my membership dues and conference registration fee all at the same time?

No, you must pay your membership dues first. Once your membership has been paid for, you can log-in to the registration system and register for the conference at the member rate.

Can I add other items to my registration at a later date?

Yes, you can log back into your profile and register for pre-conference workshops, or other conference activities after you purchase your conference registration.

What is a Guest registration? Who is it for?

Guest registrations can only be purchased in addition to a full registration. All guests will be identified with an appropriate name badge. A guest is defined as a spouse or significant other, friend, or relative who is not a member of NASPA, is not qualified to become a member, and does not work in a student affairs related occupation. If you want to bring a guest, please provide their name and pay the registration fee during your online registration process. All guests must check-in at the registration desk onsite. Guest registrations DO NOT include pre-conference workshops or any educational sessions.

Can I only attend a pre-conference workshop, and not the entire NASPA Annual Conference?

There are only a select number of pre-conference workshops you can register for without having to register for the NASPA Annual Conference. These include the International Symposium, Community College Institute, Undergraduate Pre-Conference Workshop, and Chief Student Affairs Officers Institute. In order to register for any other pre-conference workshop, you MUST be registered for the NASPA Annual Conference.

Are there any meals included with the conference registration fee?

Meals are NOT provided during the conference. There will be light appetizers served during the opening reception and exhibit hall breaks may offer coffee or ice cream. Some institutions, knowledge committees, and other sponsored groups will choose to host receptions / meetings that may have food and beverage available but this is not guaranteed.

How can I present a session?

Please visit the Program & Events page of the conference website to submit your program.

Do you have to be a NASPA member in order to present a session?

You do not have to be a NASPA member in order to submit a session for the NASPA Annual Conference. However, if your session gets accepted, the Coordinating Presenter must become a NASPA member.

Do I have to register for the conference if I’m presenting a session?

Yes, you must register for the conference if you are presenting a session. There are no discounts for presenters.

What is the deadline to submit a program?

The deadline to submit a program proposal is Friday, September 2, 2016.
