Housing for the 2017 NASPA Annual Conference Opens on Oct 3

NASPA’s 99th Annual Conference will be convening in San Antonio this March and is destined to be a memorable event! The newly renovated Harry B. Gonzalez Convention Center sits on San Antonio’s famous River Walk, along with many of the fabulous hotels in the conference hotel room block.

Housing opens for the 2017 NASPA Annual Conference in San Antonio on Monday, October 3. If you have already taken advantage of the Advanced Registration option you should have received an email that provides a link for you to go back into your registration and add housing. If you have not yet registered, this Monday we will re-open registration just for you!

Be sure to reserve your dream room early, as housing goes quickly when 7,000 of your closest student affairs friends are convening in one city! This year, there are many options—17 hotels in all—that fit a variety of budgets and needs. We have three headquarter hotels this year—The Grand Hyatt, the Marriott Rivercenter and the Marriott Riverwalk. Along with the Convention Center, these three hotels will host an assortment of NASPA meetings and events. The Marriott Rivercenter and Marriott Riverwalk are two separate hotels that are next to eachother, so read the NASPA schedule of events carefully when it’s posted to make sure you are heading to the correct hotel.

Are you staying for both TPE and NASPA? Going to both conferences requires a few additional nights in San Antonio, so consider a room at hotel with a rate of $159!  Rates for the hotels in San Antonio range from $159-$242.

Interested in finding a roommate? NASPA is pleased to be re-launching RoomSync, a platform to assist you in finding a roommate if you would like to make your dollar go a little further. This is a great option for TPE and student attendees!

To see the full spectrum of hotels being offered, go to the Plan Your Trip section of the Annual Conference site. Please note that if you are going to both TPE and NASPA, the full listing of hotels may not be available to you, as some of the hotel room blocks start later than others.

All conference hotels are less than a mile from the Convention Center. You can go here to view a map of the hotels. Shuttles are not being provided due to the close proximity of hotels to the Harry B. Gonzales Convention Center. Of course for our attendees with accessibilty needs, an ADA Shuttle will be provided.

Please keep in mind that booking inside the NASPA hotel conference block helps keep conference registration rates down and contributes to the overall success of the meeting. Also, be careful not to book housing with any outside companies other than our partner Experient. There are companies who solicit our members claiming to be our official housing provider when they are NOT affiliated with NASPA. These are what we call Housing Pirates! One company in particular, Global Housing Corp, has been sending emails to some of our members. Please ignore these solicitations.

Experient is the official housing provider for the NASPA Annual Conference. NASPA has worked diligently with the hotels in San Antonio to establish room blocks to meet the needs of all our attendees and exhibitors. Improper solicitation of hotel reservations from any company or housing provider other than Experient is not approved by NASPA. Reservations made through unaffiliated organizations may appear to be for lower rates, however they may be illegitimate, have unreasonable cancellation or change penalties, or be completely non-refundable. Please report any unauthorized solicitation to NASPA’s Director of Meetings, Jill M. Gately.

The Experient Housing Bureau can be reached at 877.277.2820 (Domestic) and 847.996.5820 (International). All reservations must be made through the Housing Bureau. Please do not contact the hotels directly, as they will not accept reservations from attendees for the Annual Conference room blocks.

We look forward to seeing you in March!
